Welcome to Sam's Gospel Music Course

Student requirements for course:
1. Piano or full sized 61/76 sized keyboard.
2. Organ students access to organ with foot pedals.
3. A printer to be able to take lesson exercises with you.
4. Any media device that plays MP3 files (new feature to this course)
5. * A webcam/camera phone to send us video clips of your playing (not required but can be a real help in monitoring your progress)
Here's how you navigate through our course.
1. Click on the course workbook to view the course lessons on scales, chords, patterns etc. This is your reference guide to practical instruction. If you right click (on your mouse) on the course workbook you can download to you computer. Feel free to print out any of the lessons and reference pages.
2. If you're a brand new musician you start in the "New Musicians" link above and in the course workbook . You must learn the basic theory of music and how to properly play the scales and chords. You should be practicing all the lessons in the new musicians section of the course workbook. The video links show you proper technique to playing scales.
3. If you're a local church musician then you start in the workbook and the above links for hymnal , traditional and gospel courses. Our purpose to infuse you with all the standard songs necessary to support a church ministry. You will also receive MP3 lesson files of the gospel style of playing these songs to your email (registered students only) in order to create your personal reference library using selections in the African American Heritage Hymnal. (November 2011)
4. Hammond Organ musicians will be using the tips in the course workbook , hammond organ links above, and youtube links. You're the advanced class and your continued learning will be covered in the Hammond Organ link above.
5. Keyboard/Piano musicians are to use the information in the course workbook, midi files in the hymnal links above and the new youtube lessons for keyboard/piano.

Our latest midi is "Let The Church Say Amen" playing in the background. With this software you can view split keyboard showing left hand and right hand views. You can slow down the tempo and change the key to learn the song in your favorite key. This software also allows you to play back MP3 songs, slow them down and change the key.
