Welcome to Sam's Fall Gospel Music Course " Praise" Music

  Beginner/Intermidiate/ Advanced Musician

This course has been designed to assist in the training of today's new generation of church musicians. Our staff musician has a 39 year background in music primary geared towards the total church experience.  This course will assist you in learning the variuos techniques use in the playing shout music. Many of the stlyes I will teach are the comprised of jazz runs and chords I've learned in the past 30 years in the COGIC church. We wll introduce you to Sam's Shout Patterns via videos and workbook lessons.

We're an non-denominational education site and we offer our training to all who have the desire to learn. Music opens and closes each service and if the musician is not correct, the service suffers. I'll say that again "music opens and closes each service, if the musician is not correct, the service suffers".

The Musicians Prayer

Oh Lord, please bless this music that it might glorify your name.

May the talent that you have bestowed upon me be used only to serve you.

Let this music be a witness to your majesty and love, and remind us that you are always watching, and listening, from your throne above.

May your presence and beauty be found in every note, and may the music we play reach the hearts of your people so they will draw closer to you.

May your Spirit guide us through every measure so that we might be the instruments of your peace, and proclaim your glory with glad voices.

Basic Shout Pattern Techniques in Ab " Musicians Shout Key" for Organ

Shout Patterns in Db and Eb. When practicing shout patterns its good know more than one key. You know where you might be on the keys when the shout breaks out. I know some of the more experienced musicians have a favortie key but ofor this course we will explore how to play the praise music in several keys. View this video clip and watch the varying technques of bass to right hand chording technques we use.

These videos demonstrate the advanced bass patterns you can incorporate into the shout patterns.

This course is more about recognizing basic patterns and adding to what you currently play. For the new musician use the basic shout patterns will have provided for you and build to this level with practice.
